Name: Tiffany Moore
Location: Madrid, Spain
Role at Nexus: Global Marketing Manager
Describe a typical day as a Nexus marketing manager.
This is a difficult question to answer because there is no such thing as a “typical” day for me! Working for a startup in such a dynamic and quickly-evolving industry means I’m constantly tackling different challenges and tasks every day.
I take care of content generation, social media accounts, event prep and marketing, digital advertising, PR and both internal and external communications. As we continue to grow and our marketing department expands, I’ll probably be able to hone in more on specific areas, but for now I’m having an absolute blast!
What attracted you to the job at Nexus?
I really just fell into the job at Nexus. I worked with our Chief Learning Officer, Mark, at a pervious job and we had a great synergy. He thought I’d make a good fit working at Nexus, so he introduced me to his co-founders. There was an immediately connection and the more they explained Nexus’s mission, vision and trajectory, the more convinced I became that I had to be a part of it.
Nexus is a young company with a flat structure. Everyone’s voice counts and there are no barriers to what we are “allowed” to suggest, do or try. It’s rare to find a company that gives their employees so much freedom and trust.
What is the most challenging part of your job as a marketeer in the tech industry?
I find B2B marketing especially challenging within an industry like ours because the sales cycles are long. It takes a lot of brainstorming, research and trial and error to understand how to get our message across to those who would benefit from our solutions most. It’s a never-ending process, but that’s what makes it interesting and fun.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
Seeing concepts come to life is what I really enjoy and find satisfaction from. Whether it be the launch of a revamped website or a whitepaper that we worked weeks on developing, seeing output that will soon be in front of the eyes of our audience is something that excites me.
What are you most looking forward to in 2021?
Gosh, I’m looking forward to SO much! Nexus growth, my own personal and professional growth, being able to travel again, taking holidays, seeing my family (who live in the states), hopefully being able to live mask-free again…
